Kickin' back as summer starts to wind down

I'm not sure where the hot August weather has gone, but the cool temps have driven me inside recently. I'm still puttering away with the compost and I planted some lettuce and spinach. There's also my vacation coming up and I'm really hoping to get the veggie bed tilled up in time to plant my garlic and shallots.

There's knitting and lots of cooking going on as well. Zucchini bread and savory zucchini pie and basil Gorgonzola crackers and blueberry ice cream... (sigh). This time of year is so delicious. I've also started a new blog project to help me figure out what's for dinner. I find that writing about cooking gets me inspired to cook, much like blogging about the garden gets me excited to play in the dirt.

Huzzah for Wash! I think I'd have to check it out regardless, just cuz of the name.
