Why wife soup?

One of the best TV shows ever was Joss Whedon's Firefly. It was canceled much too soon, but it lives on in the memories of many fans.

At the end of Episode 9, War Stories, Zoe brings Wash a bowl of what he calls "Wife Soup". That became Husband's name for any soup I create that is made with whatever is lying around. This blog is about the stuff I cook and the recipes that are just lying around in my head, waiting to be used.

Mmm. Wife Soup. I must have done good.
